Parmesan Knots (and graduation weekend)

This might just be the best cheater "recipe" I have ever seen.  Not because it's super homemade (far from it), or especially impressive, but because it is so easy, delicious, and only 15 minutes start-to-table.

Behold the Parmesan Knot (did I mention that they look pretty neat too?!):

Easy Parmesan Knots
  • 1 tube (12 ounces) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits ( I used Pillsbury Golden Layers Refrigerated Buttermilk Biscuits)
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (I did use the green can stuff)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  1. Roll each biscuit into a 12-in. rope and tie into a knot; tuck ends under. Place 2 in. apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients; brush the warm knots with the mixture.

We were blessed to have a lot of family in town for Isaac's graduation and I wanted to make something that everyone could snack on --  even the kids liked them (even though they "had green on them").  I'm holding on to this recipe to use for potlucks, quick appetizers, and as a side for pasta night.  You can also try variations on the parmesan/herb mixture like cinnamon/sugar for a breakfast knot or a sugar glaze with fresh fruit for a light dessert.

The graduation ceremony was wonderful and I could not have been more proud watching Isaac walk across the stage!

  2. What an adorable couple - it was so great seeing you guys this weekend! And those garlic knots are GREAT! I had to stop the girls from taking seconds and thirds so everyone else could get a chance to try them, too!
